About Spinal Injury

This article explains the symptoms of spinal injuries and what to do in case you encounter one.
If you ever encounter someone who may have a spinal injury:
1. Call for emergency medical help
2. Do not try to move the person. This may cause permanent paralysis or other serious back
complications. Somehow hold up the head and neck to avoid moving them.
3. If the person is having trouble breathing, begin CPR, but remember not to move the person.
4. If a person must be moved (because of vomiting or another reason), use at least two people. Make sure the head, neck and back are aligned throughout the entire process.
Here are some signs of spinal injury:
1. Evidence of a head injury along with constant change consciousness
2. Strong pain in the neck or back
3. Inability to move the neck
4. A significant force hits on the back or head
5. Complaints of weakness or loss of feeling or movement in limbs
